Bulls fire Skiles

So with 25 games into the season the Bulls decided to fire Skiles. I don't mind the decision but I find the timing lame. It was clearly a way for them to get the least amount of press on the story and that disappoints me since they hold him accountable for his poor coaching yet they don't want to hold themselves accountable for their reasons. Instead management wants to avoid explaining themselves. LAME. I wish Skiles the best. I was quite excited when he came to the Bulls and I loved his hard work mentality. People will look back at the Skiles era in a positive light.

With week 7 of power rankings the bulls went down to 18 from 17 last week. You would think with winning 2 out of 3 a team would go up a spot at least. The Pacers loss was a huge swing from winning by 15+ to losing in double digits so I understand the demotion.

Second week of December and the bulls are surging. They are now at 17 from last weeks 20. They have Seattle, Indiana, and New York coming up this week, those are some easy matchups. Let's see if they can get up to 13 next week.

ESPN Widget

I went on espn today and noticed under the teams section, there was a widget for every team. Check it out.

Bulls vs Celtics 12/8

Good they at least won against Detroit cause I really don't see them winning on the road against Boston. I am excited to see this match up though. I've only watched the Boston v Orlando game and that was good fun. Looking forward to this one.

Bulls vs Bobcats 12/5/07

And the Bulls win again! This winning thin is nice. 3 out of 4 is a good start. Detroit will be a tough match up. I didn't watch it but from reading about it I heard it was a great fourth quarter. We need more of this from Luol Deng.http://aycu13.webshots.com/image/35852/2001836447029620989_rs.jpg

It really is the big three that are sucking it up. Sure Wallace has some bad games but if Deng, Gordon, and Hinrich aren't playing all goes to the crapper. Duhon really impressed me and I really don't know why. There were a few instances of him just running up the court so fast. It was fun to watch.

I think Toronto is a possibility. This Denver game is probably gonna be a blow out. This forum should become the over/under game.

The east has gotten a lot better and I feel the biggest problems are Wallace stinking up the place and Deng not producing. Gordon is doing well, Joe Smith has been solid and Kirk always plays poor early on. Then again the Bulls have always played poor in the beginning of the season, at some point though you have to get over this hump. Maybe Skiles just can't get through this group and we need someone else managing.

New Celebration

Ben Wallace may suck but he's made a new handshake/celebration. I saw him do this with Sheed and his current Bulls teammates. That alone is worth the salary!

I have no idea what you're talking about. Have you seen Ben Wallace play :P? I happened to catch a hornets game. Sad to see Tyson on another team. He still looks like ass on the offensive end. Then again Wallace now can't play defense or offense.

Power Rankings

I love reading Espn's power rankings. Funny how the week before the bulls are one of the top 10 teams and within a week they're ranked at 18. Makes sense of course when you lose to Milwaukee and Philadelphia. I sure hope it was all the trade talk looming this team cause they've been looking like crap.

Mike Downey is an Idiot

I never was much a fan of Mike Downey but this seals the deal for my appreciation for him as a journalist.

Here are his reasons for why not getting Kobe was a bad deal along with his website.

First of all he says people, as in fans are saying not trading for Kobe is good because of 4 reasons.

1. He shoots too much -I really don't know who makes the reason of him shooting too much. Sure some people were negative with his 80 point effort but really shooting too much is the lamest argument to start off with. He just wanted to bring up this argument to bring up Michael Jordan and his shots per game.

2. He isn't a good guy

3. Here he compares Kobe's Denver case with Michael Jordan's gambling incident and Scottie Pippen carrying a gun. This much is known about Kobe, he has something about him which people don't like. I don't know if that means he's not a good guy but that goes a long way. He's definitely not a likable guy. I still wouldn't care if he was a Bull cause we'd be getting a great player.

4. He isn't a team guy -Here he brings up the case of Kobe winning 3 championships with the Lakers to which I and most would say, duh you had Shaq. What did Shaq do when he left the Lakers, he won with the Heat. Then he whips out this quote.

"You ask why Kobe can't win a championship without Shaq? For the same reason Jordan couldn't win one with the Washington Wizards. Because he needs help."

That and Jordan was in his 40's when he was with the Wizards not 29 like Bryant is.

1. They shouldn't "gut" the whole Bulls team to get him -So if your last argument mentions Jordan not winning a championship with the Wizards because he needed help then how would we do then if we gave up Luol Deng, Ben Gordan, Tyrus Thomas, and Joakim Noah. Ben Wallace is ueseless and that would leave us with Nocioni and Hinrich. Sorry Downey but I don't consider Duhon, Sefalosha, and Aaron Gray pivotal pieces to our Bulls team. Losing 4 of our most talented players would gut the team, the Lakers weren't biting on Ben Wallace, and Ben Gordon for Bryant.

I think most individuals would take Bryant if the deal was good enough and would help the team. We go to the playoffs

ESPN reports that the bulls would be willing to trade Gordon, Noah and Thomas. I would be willing to part with those guys too, not only that but it makes the Lakers nice and young and deep with some great players. Take the deal Lakers!

What I find funny is that Kobe nixes any trade that involves Luol Deng. So it looks if there is any trade it could look really good for the Bulls since the Kobe-meister doesn't want a Chicago Lakers.

Yea, that was a ridiculous trade proposal and super beneficial for the Bulls. I would trade Gordon, Wallace and P.J. Brown for the Lakers any day.
